![]() Tom di Nardo, former music critic for the Philadelphia Daily News, has written a book about the Philadelphia Orchestra, Listening to Musicians. “Listening To Musicians: 40 Years of the Philadelphia Orchestra” is Tom Di Nardo’s attempt to hear the heartbeat and soul of its artists. It features Interviews with Riccardo Muti, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Christoph Eschenbach, Charles Dutoit and Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and many guest conductors, soloists and composers. The most heartfelt comments come from the Orchestra’s musicians, past and present; insights into their art and dedication bring a deep awareness of performing at such an exalted level.
