Eric Carlson

Eric Carlson joined The Philadelphia Orchestra in 1986 as second trombonist. Before joining the Orchestra he held similar positions with the Baltimore Symphony for six years and with the North Carolina Symphony for three years. His primary teachers were Edward Kleinhammer and Arnold Jacobs, both former members of the Chicago Symphony.
Mr. Carlson has taught at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore and currently teaches at Temple University in Philadelphia. In addition he has published several transcriptions of music for various brass instruments which are available at cecmusic.com.
His recording of the Rimsky-Korsakov Concerto for Trombone and Military Band with the Temple University Wind Symphony is available on Albany Records.
